Ray Willis's Rheinwood Pastoral Company has enjoyed a successful year on and off racetrack, with record prices paid for his sale-ring yearlings and Brisbane colt Havatryst topping off his racing performances at Randwick on Boxing Day 2010. Havatryst, prepared by astute Brisbane trianer Barry Baldwin, made it three out of three in winning a 1200-metre race on Sunday. Havatryst is one of many three-year olds bred at Rheinwood's Mittagong-based farm- joining Howdidyoudoit, Gilded Spur and Mac Chois, which are all preparing for the 2011 autumn carnival in Sydney. Conjugality, which foaled Havatryst with a mating to Foreplay is now in foal to the latter's three-quarter brother Time Thief, which stands at Darley Stud Aberdeen. Willis has a team of seven yearlings for sale in the Magic Millions by some established stallions and two youngsters by freshman sire Casino Prince. His other lots are by Pins, Show a Heart, Holy Roman Emperor, Magic Albert and Tale of the Cat. He sold five lots at the corresponding sale in January, averaging $101,000, which proved a tremendous result for a lesser breeding operaton. (Sydney Morning Herald Jan 2011) |
