| Tara Madgwick - Tuesday, 28 February 2012 After two sessions of the 2012 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, boutique farms Rheinwood Pastoral and Musk Creek are setting the pace for vendors by average. Ray Willis' Rheinwood Pastoral have just four yearlings to offer at this sale and sold three of them today at an average $185,667, highlighted by a cracking Fastnet Rock colt (pictured) from So Funny that made $340,000 to the bid of BC3 Thoroughbreds and David Hayes Racing. | |

| Magic Millions 2011 |

The Magic Millions sale this year kicked off in dreadful weather conditions making inspections extremely difficult leading into the sales. ·We learnt of the appalling floods in Brisbane, Toowoomba, etc and the loss of many lives and couldn't believe the damage caused to property.
The sale took on a sombre feel and lacked atmosphere when reality set in not only were QLD buyers absent but many overseas buyers stayed away – what with our dollar being so strong and Magic Millions tighter credit control. Our yearlings were well received with a Tale Of The Cat colt making $270,000 being bought by BC3 T/Breds and a Show a Heart colt making $150,000 (see others sales on the draft link)
A lot of trainers didn’t have orders for horses but this is a sign of our economy at present. Nice horses made big money at the 2011 Magic Millions and this followed through at the 2011 Inglis classic sale with good types standing out and making over the odds. |
